Books Being Made into Movies in 2016

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children - Very unique book.  Loved the historical connection to the Holocaust!  I also think it is totally cool how Ransom Riggs came up with the idea for this novel.

Allegiant (book #3 in the Divergent series)

The 5th Wave - ONE OF MY FAVORITES!  I had so many students read this last year...boys and
girls.

A Monster Calls - We will read this in class this year.

The program will be featuring videos and stories that showcase the industry's talent and innovation.

Paper Towns is Coming Out in Theaters Soon

I went to see Tomorrowland at the movie theater this weekend...amazing!  Great message, Disney!  While I was there, I noticed that John Green's novel Paper Towns is coming out soon...
It looks like I have until July 24th to read this book before I see the movie.

Sold by Patricia McCormick

After we are done reading the novel A Monster Calls, we will be reading Nightjohn.  In the novel Nightjohn, we will look at slavery in the past and then reflect on slavery in our world today.  While I was shopping at Barnes and Noble with my daughter today, I came across the novel Sold by Patricia McCormick.  This novel shows one of the biggest problems we face in our world today: human trafficking.

I purchased the novel and am currently reading it.  Then I want to see the movie.

Google Science Fair

Some of you were telling me last week that you were upset that there was no one organizing the science fair at school this year.  I found this:  https://www.googlesciencefair.com/en/  If you are really interested in science, this many be something you would like to do.
